I am back, but very busy so really do not how long I often I will add to my blog.

Have found a new play thing to do and that is ZENTANGLES.have joined a group on yahoo and I am having fun. They have a journal that I am doing. Sometimes it makes me think but that's a good thing.

I have start some others on my own group and it was because of Julie (Thank you Julie) that I found the yahoo group.

Would like to show you some that I have been doing. I also have been doiing the scenes still, Trying out doing the scenes in pencel. I have been buy stamps from sutterstamps and the owner was telling me how to do it.

Hi all,

I got told off for not posting to my blog ..... so sorry, things just get away with you. First I lost my modem and had to wait almost 2 weeks before I got a new one. Thank goodness I could download my emails, thanks to my son's internet connection.

Then of course we had a storm. Take a look at this. Pingelly This isn't our place, but we also had the brunt of the storm coming at us. One minute it is so still, then my son looks out the window and said "look" is that a fire, by then we all had looked and it wasn't. We realised what it was, had about 2 seconds to get to the middle of the house. Yes we had damage, lost a window, a whirly gig off the roof and a side fence. Also damaged the shed beside the house. So we have been cleaning up when we can.

Anyway just to keep my friend happy, I will show you some cards I make for a sketch group each month. I do a sketch every Sunday and the owner of the group Betty does one for the month, difference is, hers you have to do to stay on the group and mine are just for fun. So here are my last few weeks I have been missing!

Pink Cards and Sunday Sketches

Well another week another day.... A couple of weeks ago I sent a good friend of mine a assortment of pink cards for her fundraiser that is held at the end of October in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness.

Figurines

Hi all,

My friend Shirley asked to see my collection of figurines that I have collected over the years. I often go on ebay and buy them. They wouldn't be very expensive singular, but as a collection all together they add up.

The above one is huge and sits in my welsh dresser.

The above lot are in my entrane hall, they sit on another dresser. These ones are not as large as the first one.

This is a overall picture of the rest of the collection. They are in my computer room, sitting on a half finished bookcase!!

I do not think I have doubled up photos, but yes there are a few that are exactly the same. sometimes you have to get a few together and that is how I get extras.

I started this when my mother passed away in 1992 and she left me with 3 very broken figurerines, from then on..... well some say I have more money than sense. But I love them.

WOW September is almost gone

Hi all,

Its well over a month since I updated my blog. I hate September with such a passion that I withdraw a lot inwards.

Anyway its almost over. Would like show you a card I made recently. Just got some new stamps so thought I would play.

This next one is one I do for the Sunday Sketch on a yahoo group Cardsketchesbyzacksnana It is a load of fun. Each month there is a sketch where you swap it. But every Sunday there is a sketch you can do just for fun. Its a great way to get those extra Birthday etc cards. So click on the link and join the group.

My Craft Room

Hello all,

Well as I have promised some that I would show my craft room here goes.. its a long way before its finished!

From the door looking into the room.

My ribbons. Son built me two trolleys together and made a shelve over it. Hubby decided this was going to be the place where my ribbons sit.

My small bookshelf.

The wardrobe where you can see I store 'stuff'.

The next two show the area beside my little cubby hole.

The right side of my cubby where I keep my scene stamps.

This closes in behind me when I sit at my table. notice this is where my ribbons are on the right side. The bottom set of drawers has some ink pads, about 5 drawers of stamps. And other 'stuff'

The next two show how I store my ink pads. My wonderful hubby has done all the wood working for me.

Last but not least is my little work station. Pens in front of me, air brush to the left, laptop to the right. Various black inks I use all the time in front of me, as well as glues and other 'toys'.

Papercraft Planet Cuttlebug Challenge #74

Hi all,

I like to do the challenges at Paper Craft Planet for the Cuttlebug. This week I decided to play, I do not always play sometimes I seem so busy and sometimes well lets say we can't always do the challenges because we don't have everything!

Someone didn't want me to play as I broke my "C" plate :( I had 2 "b" plates spare, so now I have to go and find another C... oh well

Anyway here is a couple of pictures of the card I did for this week. Of course its pink!! I do a lot of pink cards for challenges etc. So that I can put them into a box and send off to a good friend in Melbourne who every year has raffles for Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Weekend Follys

Hi all,

Well last Saturday my young daughter Jackie and her son Cody dropped in on a surprise visit. I knew something was up before hand when hubby and her were talking behind my back ... worked on hubby for almost 2 weeks, but he told me nothing was going on... so although it was a surprise to see them it wasn't really :)

In the past month or so hubby and I have been making a car bed for young Cody, we have yet to finish it. But I couldn't wait to show it to him.. so off we all went to the shed, I was sitting waiting with my camera of course..... this is a picture of him when he first saw it.. and going around and around until Pa put him into it (he couldn't climb in himself) It is safe to say he loves it :)

That evening my son William was to do a stint at guarding the eternal flame in the park for ANZAC day services. But before that he went he got permission from a higher up person to show young Cody (almost 2) around the station. Well he had a ball, running around and around.

So These pictures below are of the March. You can almost spot William at the far back on the left. He is carrying the yellow flag.

Well am taking another lesson online from My Creative Classroom. I have the same teacher as before and that is Sandy H. This one is How to Brayer. Am glad I am doing this because I never could get it right!

First I will show you my first lessons work.

And the homework one, by now I got the hang of it!

I did a swap on one of my groups and it was called Peoplescapes. We had to do a card or front with a person in it but using stampscapes stamps also.

I had a lot and I mean a lot of pink bits...... so I thought I would do some for a friend Gillian who does collect all kinds of cards pink and raffles them for breast cancer awareness in October.

Time is awasting

Well time is wasting away here, seems I have been so busy doing things I just really haven't had to time to blog.

Ok a few weeks ago I did join a photoscape swap. That is to find a photo and stamp on it, Scary...... very scary. Had a lot of what ifs going around.

So I played first.. here is the orginal photo and one I made out of it.

So that worked for me so here is the photo I did send in (partner has received it)

At last

My daughter, son in law and baby grandson are on their way home. Boy are they quick. Left Mildura on the NSW/Vic border at about 8 pm there time yesterday and just had a phone call from her and she will arrive at about 7 am Sunday morning thats tomorrow!! In Perth.

I can't wait to see them again, but just know they will be safe and sound I am happy.

On Thursday Howie and I went for a day's outing. Drove down thru a place called Dryandra just south west of us. So we drove around a lot all day. Looking at things ... took heaps of photos of places. Found a place that might prove interesting to go back too during Winter for a weekend getaway. Open fires etc etc.

So here is a picture of a flower on one of the trees out that way. Think its a gum of some sort. Not too sure whats its called but its beautiful.

Above is another lot of Christmas cards I have done. Not sure if I will be sending them out next year. This year it cost me over $100 just on postage, and adding the cost of cardstock, inks etc etc... well may stick to just birthday cards.. not sure yet.

Not a good clear picture. But this young man has made both his father and I very proud of him. He is in the process of joining the Volunteer Fire Brigade here in our town. He has been out with them a few times, coming home most nights black with soot but happy. He still has to go to Perth and do some training and some training here as well before he is 'qualified'. Maybe one day in the future he may decide to go back to the big city and become a fireman.

Will not say sorry, but its a proud mum's moment :)

This past weekend...

Hi all,

Well this past weekend, HWMBO and I went away. Was suppose to have eye surgery in Northam a town about 120 kms from me. We got there and thought at 11.30 am we would find it then go have lunch and poke around the town. Good thing I did. First the referral had NO address on it, so rang the rooms. Turns out someone stuffed up big time. There was no appointments that day in Northam. Northam was the day before... so seeing as I was early in ringing we still had almost 2 hours till my appointment, which turned out to be in Perth. So off to Perth we went. Sat in the surgery's room for 3 hours, almost starved to death as we hadn't had lunch at all. THEN the lovely (and she was) doctor tells me 1st I don't need surgery on the eye yet, and 2ndly she doesn't do it anyway!!!! So am off to see another doctor in Feb next year to see what he says.

We get out of the docs and whip over the shopping centre across the road. Had lunch and wandered around, decided to get my hair trimmed. In the end we left around about5 pm, decided we would find somewhere to stay the night.

HWMBO drove us, down to Fremantle first to see if we could find a motel along the highways... none... so then went into the city of Perth to go out the other side... none... But we did see a Eye in the sky which we didn't know was there. Photos below. At last I remember a motel on Canning Hwy...... so off we went down that road, almost back into Fremantle it seemed!!! 7.30 pm we have a room at last!!

Next was dinner, we were beginning to get hungry. _I_ decided we wanted seafood :)) Found a place in Belmont not far from daughters house... so off we go again... We get there and it is FULL to overflowing..... *sigh* not our night it seemed. In the end we went to a place called Miss Maud's lovely place that does seafood smorgsabord. Not bad at all, ate heaps of prawns, muscles and oysters as well as some salad. HWMBO out did himself again in dessert, you know for such a skinny runt he can put away his food.......... am entirely jealous you know. I look at it and put weight on!!

So dinner over with we went back to the motel till checkout time. Breakfast and I wanted to go to the markets in Fremantle..... damm we get there at 9.30 am to find they don't open till 10 am!!! Off we go down the main drag, its windy, its raining and I am in a wheelchair. Find a place .. had breaky. Back to the markets, Enjoyed the morning there, and decided we would go to the E Shed markets, had a lovely time there too...... I didn't buy anything :(

Decided I wanted photos (see below) so HWMBO drove me around Freo and we got some photos, not many, as by then the traffic was busy.

All in all, we have decided to do it again in a few months time less the doctors of course.

Well Winter is truely here in my neck of the woods. Nothing but rain rain and more rain......... no I lie. Last weekend we had some lovely sunny weather.

Alas, while visiting my darling grandson 2 weeks ago the little darling gave me his cold. Of course being diabetic makes it worse for me by far. So will have this darn cold for a few more weeks I am sure.

Cody though my poor little darling ended up with croup. Wish I could have his croup too so he doesn't have to suffer.

Have made a couple of cards, but only for swaps, so can't show anything yet!

Hi all,

Well have made a few cards over this past weekend, but I can't show you any but this one.

I might send it away as a RAK am not sure yet. I have fallen in love with it. I don't usually but something about this one I really love. Of course the pic does not do it justice.

I stamped a image onto acetate, let it dry and then turned it over and painted it with re inkers.

Wallflowers

Morning all,

Over the last weekend it rained really heavy. I had bought some wallflower seeds you know the paper daisy ones. It tells you to put them in after the first really heavy rain...... So I got HWMBO out to throw the seeds then rake over them, hoping that the weather will rain a bit more to set them. Hmmmm well that didn't go to plan it hasn't rained since!! I do hope that they will still come up. I love those flowers.

On another note I was asked to take a photo of what I see out the front window. Here is the result. The large dots are rain on the window... well it did rain that day!

Also showing a card I made for a friends birthday, can show you now as she OPENED her card EARLY!! although I think I did forget to tell her not too hehe. It is what they call a tri-fold card. Have made heaps of cards this week but they are all for swaps so will have to wait before I can show you.

Now here is the card I made for Paper Craft Planet's cuttlebug challenge. After bugging the acetate I used reinkers on the back in the valley's and on the front as well.

Time..

Ok.. would love to say time has flown by for the last few weeks, but I must be honest and I found them draggin badly :(

Bought myself a wireless router thru my isp, took a whole day to set it up. It lasted 4 and half days before it went kapoot. On the phone, complained, whinged and whatever. They gave me a dialup account to cover the time before I got a new router sent out to me. That took ages, but it finally arrived yesterday. Out of the box and within 20 minutes I had set it up myself and am on my way back to heaven :)
Didn't realise I was that addicted to the net. So my blog suffered, I suffered, my Farm on Facebook that I have suffered.

I didn't get to Perth to babysit this week, in the midst of all this I somehow hurt my back again. I say somehow but I have sever arthritis of the spine and it goes out visiting sometimes. So laying prone in bed till I get fed up with that and I hobbled around.

One good thing is that seeing I couldn't be on the computer I did make some cards. May take some photos later and show them.

I also have a good friend who lives in Victoria who is collecting pink cards for a fundraiser in October. Think so far I have sent off 2 boxes of cards, a box of 'pink' goodies for her to make cards, I sent off another box yesterday as well as including some packets of envelopes. Forgot to take a pic of the RAK I included so am hoping she remembers to scan it :) I don't think she reads this blog, but one never knows.

Well to top off my bad few weeks I had a lovely surprise of being picked DIVA for the month of May on Justcards, so am looking forward to those little goodies. I love spoiling people, but I also like to be spoiled.

Hi all,

Boy am I so happy today. I had entered a blog/candy giveaway on a very good friend Betty's website Scrapped Into A Friendzy AND this is what she sent me!!

There were chocolates! and a cute little house book about me which almost did me to a _T_ I must say. Betty also added a gorgeous little card made with nesties!!

Aren't I the LUCKIEST person in the world!!

And this is the one for last week.

I did more cards, but have to wait till my partners get them before showing!

Well another Wednesday, but its a special day. My hubby turned 60 So HAPPY BIRTHDAY HWMBO. We are meeting a friend tomorrow afternoon, someone from Hubby's past. He hasn't seen him in 40 years, so I expect a lot of talk :) He is visiting from England.

Hello, I am a craftaholic

1. I would rather buy a paper punch than see my kids go to uni.

2. I would rather colour with markers than make dinner.

3. I am still trying to figure out a use for pet hair in my crafts so that housework doesn't seem so dreary.

4. I never throw away anything..I might find a crafty use for it.

5. My children don't wear hand-me-downs, they wear hand-stamped- by-me-downs.

6. I have informed the fire department that if the fire starts in my basement, to not bother coming because there is more paper and accelerants down there than they can imagine and I don't want them to get hurt because there wouldn't be anything left to make them a card with.

7. I have been known to pack extra empty bags when going to stamp conventions.

8. I know my UPS, Fed Ex and mail carrier by name.

9. My blood pressure skyrockets when any box arrives with craft supplies in it and of course that is what makes a day good.

10. I swoon at craft stores.

11. I wear Depends when I watch online Live scrapping shows because I get so tickled by new techniques.

12. My next door neighbor suggested I buy the house next door for a "craft room"

13. My husband knows that when I disappear into the craft room I do not plan to eat or sleep for at least 24 hours.

14. I own more pairs of scissors than my family has hands.

15. I wear glitter on my face often and sometimes there are stray pieces of tape on the back of my pants.

16. I have ink stained fingers and at age 50 I am still investing in baby wipes.

17 I could stamp and scrap from now until I die and never need to buy another piece of paper, ink, tape or embellishment,

BUT I WILL because yes, I am a craftaholic, thank you for listening.

Slider card

First excuse the pictures. My brand new camera will take between 4 and 6 weeks to be fixed. It has to go to Sydney. Apparently Canon doesn't fix these here in Western Australia. I feel lost without it now.

So anyway... I received a slider card in a swap the other day. (Thanks Snoopy:) ) and I wanted to do one. Found where to get the tut from so go here.

This is the card I made.

It was so easy to do. So here is the slider card opened.

I also did a gift box for the group I am on for a front page competition. This is it.

Ok thats all for today I think. I hope you all had a great Valentines day. My other half gave me a box of roses. He decided the real roses he got me for our anniversery didn't last long. So he knows these will last longer hahah.

To my nephew and his lovely lady, they were delivered a bouncy baby boy 9th Feb 2008. I know he weighed in at 8 lb 1 oz and that he is cute. Will know more tomorrow.

Where does the time go ?

Well I don't know where the time has gone, Someone tell me where it goes so quickly ?

Anyway I belong to a couple of groups on the web that run card swaps. This first card I did for the "K" swap, we had to make something with the letter K. I went into this swap twice, being me. I made one card set it aside then a few days later made another, so I sent out two. The other card hasn't been received yet, when it does I will show it here.

This next card is for the another group. It was a birthday card.

Will post more cards later on.

Can't do any photos as my brand new over $1,000 camera broke :( It is going back tomorrow!!! Thank goodness for warranties.

It has been far too hot to do much around here except to try and melt in the heat. hey what a good way to lose weight, pity it doesn't work like that.

Ok I have been asked to show to you some cards I make. These two are crummy pics I tell you. I will need to make something so that when I try to take pictures of the cards I do they will turn out better. These were scanned.

First one is my anniversary card I made for hubby. Saw something like it on the web somewhere and went from there.

The second one I made for my daughters hubby to be (one day)!!! It was his 25th birthday on Tuesday. He plays baseball, so made the card around that.

I will try and take some photos and show more cards.

Hi,

As most of you know Western Australia is in Summer, which means HOT HOT HOT... now last Wednesday morning we set off to go to Perth to do the babysitting gig. I start with air con on...... we get to this part of the forest (but going towards the camera)

The air con goes off..... we go a few more kilometres/miles and it is starting to fog up inside. It was so cold in this part of the forest that we had to put the heater on so we could see where we were going so we didn't hit a kangaroo. As it was we had to brake for 2 of them. Then we are going down the hill into Perth and we end up slamming on the brakes again for another kangeroo in the hills of Perth!!

Strange weather, we had two days of cold in the morning and then heating up fine, now its warmish and no clouds, such a contrast to this morning.

We got the camera out while babysitting again. While I am here, I am housebound. At the moment its too hot to go out to do anything anyway. One day we will be able to take baby out maybe to a park or something and introduce him to things.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of having lunch with HWMBO's cousin, Vi and her hubby Alan and son Mike. We had lunch at Jackie's place. A great time and much laughing and reminisces of old times and places. It great for HWMBO because he hasn't been home for a very long time and we just don't know anyone else who is from there.

Unfortunetly the meat was so tough that I have decided not to eat BBQ meat anymore. WHMBO can cook for him and the boy. I will find other things to eat. Like boiled eggs tonight. :)

Day #3 (missed yesterday, life sometimes gets in the way)

At about 7 this morning there were a huge flock of galah's on my front patch. Raced to get a camera, they were so spread out. Got this one off.

One photo and they all flew away, thought it wasn't me, then saw this little fellow there. Guess the galah's didn't want to eat with him!

Hi there, Well got back home from daughters at a very reasonable time for a change. We sat outside and dined on ham and salad sandwiches, something we do NOT do often. It is hot here and I mean HOT. After dinner we sat and I tried to take some photos of the fireworks that were being let off in town. But I live to far out of town for them to come out good. So no photos to show :(.

Very quite here, will be glad when Christmas is over, doesn't seem the same this year, even our tree is looking sad.

Wednesday mornings

Morning :)

Every Wednesday my son and I travel for almost 2 hours to go to my daughters house. We leave at around 4.45 am to get there hopefully for 6.30 am. Jackie works two days a week so needs someone to look after her 5 month son. Thats ME and William, takes two of us because I am not quite as well as I would like to be.

And I love it :) And this is why, so I can get to see my darling son bond with his nephew.

Weather and other ramblings

I wish it would make its mind up. The last several days it has been as warm as! Its now 7.10 am and I am up and wide awake, so much to do today, am I going to get it all done ? I hope so. I already have a fan going on me. Have heard from HWMBO cousin who is arriving this Sunday/Monday from the UK for a visit to her son, she sounds very excited. So peaceful here at the moment, actually its usually very peaceful here all the time, no annoying neighbours, only one dog other than our own (who is sometimes annoying enough for everyone).
Well better be off, got a lot of cardmaking to do. AND I want my cup of tea!!
